Battersea Arts Centre
A magical indoor play space for 0-5s and their parents and carers. Step into a bright and buzzing space filled with activities and games for children. Enjoy lunch and refreshments from the family friendly café across the foyer.
Open Monday and Wednesday 10.00am – 5.00pm, and from 10.00am – 1.00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Organised classes including Hartbeeps and Dantastic dance classes take place in the play space on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Costs £3.00 per child.

Bertie and Boo’s Adventure Island
A softplay centre for children under 6 years old. Children can walk the plank into ‘shark-infested’ ball pits or ‘sail the seven seas’ and dig for ancient buried treasure, as well as join the daily teddybears’ picnic. Bertie and Boo play specialists are on hand for weekly story time with puppets, balloons or song and dance sessions.
Open Monday to Friday 8.30-5.30 and 8.30-10am on Saturdays and Sundays. Funny puppetry, interactive songs and visual magic – every weekday 9.45am, 10.30am and 4pm. N.B Please note there is no Storytime at 4pm on Fridays. Costs £4.99 (6 months and under go free).

Brixton Recreation Centre
Soft play facility for under 11 years old. The Play Zone gives children freedom to play and use their imagination in a specially-built maze of ball ponds, slides and rope swings.

Slightly further afield, but has positive feedback from Streatham mums who have visited. An indoor play zone for children under 11 years old, with ball ponds, mouse holes, rollers, slides, rope bridges, air machines and more. They also offer day camps and a week day creche for under-fives.
Open 9.15am – 12.15pm, 12.30pm – 3.15pm and 3.30pm – 6pm Monday to Sunday. Although they sometimes close early for private parties so you may wish to check the website before you travel. Costs £5.55 for children 1 – 3 years old (£4.55 for centre members) and £6.60 for children 4 – 11 years old (£5.55 for members). Babies under one go free.
The Spa at Beckenham, 24 Beckenham Road, BR3 4PF
A chain of soft play centres, with facilities in Earlsfield, Wimbledon and Putney. The centre in Wimbledon features padded toddler-only soft play areas (children under 3), kiddie rides, classes and various activities. Baby food, bibs, high chairs, microwave, bottle warmer and nappy changing facilities all available. For children aged 3 and over, there’s a larger playframe, video games and air hockey, weekday morning classes, a disco room, sports arena and reading zone. They also run after school and holiday time camps and special workshops. For grown-ups, there’s a café or upstairs lounge with newspapers and magazines.
Opening times in Wimbledon Monday to Sunday from 9.30am-6pm. Opening times in school holidays can vary, so please check before you travel. FlipOut trampoline park in Wandsworth is an ideal space for parents to play along with their children. Facilities include a kids area, massive foam pits, wall running, basketball slam dunk, pinball and an advanced flip street stunt zone. Probably more suitable for slightly older children, but all ages are welcome – if you can walk, you can flip – and special passes for under 5s are available.
Open 9.00am – 10.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.00am – 9.00pm on Sundays. Costs £12 per person for an hour long session. £10 for a mini flipper session (adult plus one child under 5 years old).
Benson Valley, Earlsfweld, SW18 4LZ
Slightly further afield, but still popular amongst Streatham mums. There are two locations within fairly reasonable travelling distance – Chelsea and Beckenham. Gambados offers children the opportunity to play, learn and explore through indoor soft play. Separate play areas for toddlers and pre-schoolers are designed to be stimulating with sensory play equipment including infinity tunnels, bubble tubes, touch balls, soft play floor piano, imagination toys, ‘under the sea’ sensory walls, ‘earthquake’ zones, ball pits, play frames and slides.
Gambados in Chelsea is open Monday to Thursday from 9.30am – 6. 00pm and Friday to Sunday 9.30am – 6.30pm. Costs (off peak) £7.95 for children 1-2 years old, £9.95 for children 3-12 years old and £2.95 for adults (babies under one go free). During weekends and school holidays it costs £9.95 for children aged 1-2 years, £11.25 for children aged 3-12 years and £4.95 for adults (again babies under one go free). Honey Bunny Kids
A small new play space for children aged between 3 months and 3 years at the back of the Balham post office. Activities are run by a team of experienced professionals in child development and include singing, dancing, jumping, ball pool, soft gym and many more activities. Honey Bunny is a walk in club but early booking is available if you want to ensure your child’s place.
Open from 9.30am – 12.30pm Monday to Saturday. Costs £5 for a stay and play session, or £10 if you would like to ‘drop n’ and leave your child in the care of the staff for an hour and a half. Drop in sessions must be booked in advance.

Jelly Tots cafe in Herne Hill is a relatively new soft play offering in the area. It has a small soft play frame as well as toys and games for children under 5 years old. Drinks, snacks and light meals are also available.

A popular soft play area for young children ranging from 0 years – 7 years old. Allowing kids to expend excess energy on the 20m long ‘Pirate Ship’, where they do fun-battle with the soft ball cannons. The adventures include escaping down the slides and clambering up the rigging, all in full view of of parents and carers.

Sindbads Soft Play Cafe
Sindbads offers a multi-tiered soft play centre, with dedicated play space for toddlers and juniors. The play frame and equipment have been designed to encourage physical activities such as sliding, crawling, bouncing, swinging, squeezing, balancing, hand to eye co-ordination and much more. They also host Dantastic dance classes.
Opening times can vary if they are hosting private parties, so you might want to check before you travel, but in general they are open 9.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30am – 3pm on Sundays. Last admission is 45 minutes before closing. Costs £3.95 for 1 to 4 years old, £5.50 for 5 to 8 years old and £2.50 for siblings. Under 1 year olds without sibling cost £1.50, with sibling, free. Admission qualifies you for a play period of 2 hours which may be enforced during busy periods.

The soft play area on the first floor of Streatham Leisure Centre is suitable for children under 8 years old and has a special area for babies. With bright colours, slides, a ball pool and many other interactive sections this soft play area is great for a rainy day out. A bouncy castle is also available in toddler world.
Open Monday to Friday 9am-6pm and 9am-11am on Saturdays and Sundays. Costs £3.50.

“Soft play meets children’s centre” says one reviewer! A small four level fixed soft play area, messy play area and outdoor playground. Separate soft play area and ball pit for babies. There’s a cafe on site offering drinks and snacks and a play manager on hand for support. The centre also offers a range of classes for children, including yoga.
Open Monday to Friday 9.30-12.00 and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday from 1.30pm-4.00pm. Costs £5.50 for the first child (age 1-6); £4 for the second or third child (age 1-6); £3.50 for children aged 6 months to 1 year; £3.50 per child for families who receive benefits (please bring some form of documentation).
